However, there's a catch- they sent the wrong pieces! Due to the nature of the shelf, each of the sides is a differently sized piece. You can't substitute one for another. They just won't match up. Total bummer! Not wanting to have to return what looked to be a decent shelf, I quickly called the manufacturer in order to see if I could get the one side piece I needed. No dice. The customer service people there were honestly some of the most unhelpful customer service representatives I've ever dealt with. I don't believe she even apologized for the inconvenience! I was just told repeatedly, "There's nothing we can do, it would be far too much for us to get that piece for you." Then she went on to discuss how I could send this item back through Amazon + order a new one. Yeah, ok lady- so that one can be messed up as well? I'll pass. I was very surprised. Unfortunately I didn't assemble one piece before another to realize buying furniture on Amazon is the same as making something out of a landfill(so far I would say regardless of brand as I've gotten three items from three different companies on Amazon). The screws don't all work properly making a cheap, horrible flimsy product even worse. PLEASE don't waste your money. As far as furniture assembly I highly recommend IKEA or Pier 1. It's more expensive but honestly wasting your money on total refuse is a much worse idea. If you are going to buy something cheap, at least go to Wal-Mart so you can return it easily. Returns on Amazon are a pain because of the need to repack and ship (who wants to waste even MORE time on something that was already such an infuriatingly awful deal??)
